On Monday we went to Hardware Ranch. We've been up there a few times this year but it's always been too cold or too long of a line to ride the sleigh. When we got there this time it was actually pretty warm and there wasn't one person in line. We had to wait a bit, but there ended up being only us and two other groups on the sleigh. The horses names were Norman and Betsy. Zayder was as excited over the horses as he was over the elk. We got a bonus though because we were the first people on the sleigh that day so they took us around once, then took us for a second trip around so they could count how many elk were there so they could figure out how much hay to feed them. Two rides for the price of one. (There ended up being 538 elk.) Dono thought it was "awesome" and Declyn thought it was great on the first trip around. Halfway through the second trip we noticed he had actually fallen asleep. (Attention span of a 3 year old I guess.)
There was a driver and also a girl (who paul swears was Donna from That 70's Show) on our sled. After we were done they let the boys go up close to the big horses. "Donna" even lifted them up so they could pet them. Declyn thought that was great, but when she asked him if he wanted to kiss the horse he looked at her like she was crazy. Can't blame him on that one. (Donna then proceeded to kiss the horse. Strange people in the world.)
When "Donna" lifted Donovyn up to pet the horse was so excited. Then Donna asked him if he wanted to kiss the horse. Dono misunderstood her and the next thing we know he's planting a big wet one on "Donna." Her eyes got huge and she looked around because she wasn't sure what to say. Everyone that was watching was dying laughing. Donovyn never even clued in to what had happened. Just went on petting the horses.
